The Johnson County Health Department provides Womens' Health and Family Planning services which promote optimal health throughout the life cycle. This program strives to improve the health of families through the advantageous timing and spacing of pregnancies as well as the detection and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

Womens/Mens Health/Family Planning

 
 

Our objectives:

  • To assist individuals or couples with the timing and spacing of pregnancies
  • To provide counseling and contraceptive services; assist with infertility and identify other medical problems
  • To improve knowledge about reproduction and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases

Services available:

  • Reproductive Health
    • Health education
    • Contraceptive services/natural family planning/abstinence
    • Physical examination for women on admission and annual exam
    • Employment physicals for men and women
    • Rubella screening and counseling
    • Infertility counseling and referral
    • Pregnancy testing, counseling, and referral
    • Dietitian and Social Worker available upon referral
    • Vaginitis testing and treatment
    • Contraceptive counseling for men
  • Colposcopy
  • LEEP (Loop Electrical Excisional Procedure)
  • Cryotherapy
  • Laboratory testing in CLIA-approved laboratory

 

Family planning services are available on a drop-in basis during the hours below, or by appointment if necessary.

Paying for Services

 

Please bring proof of income for every wage earner in the household. Valid proof of income includes:

- recent pay stub:

- W-2, or last tax return: or
- employer letter with hours worked and wage per hour.

  • Fees for services and supplies are based on family size and income (major insurers may pay all or part of the cost)
  • Partial payment may be made
  • Some services are available regardless of ability to pay. Check with staff when you make your appointment for additional details
  • Accepted payment includes cash, check, or major credit card
  • Fee-based client accounts may be subject to collections if not paid.


    Walk-In/Drop-In Clinic Services include:
  • Pregnancy testing
  • STD screens
  • Continuation of contraceptive methods
  • HIV-only screening and result counseling
  • Vaginitis and uncomplicated urinary tract infection testing and treatment
  • Family planning annual exams
  • Employment/school physicals
