The Johnson County Health Department provides Well Child and Young Adult health exams which foster growth and development of healthy children and young adults from two months to 21 years of age.

Well Child & Young Adult Program

 
 

 

Our objectives:

  • To provide age-appropriate, Well Child maintenance, which includes growth measurements, developmental screening, physical exams, and laboratory testing as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • To provide age-appropriate immunizations
  • To provide age-appropriate counseling of common childhood concerns (nutrition, toilet habits, discipline, dental, and safety concerns)
  • Flouride varnishing
  • Blood lead screenings from six months to six years
  • Sickle cell screening
  • Neonatal screening

The Well Child Clinic offers:

  • Kan Be Healthy screenings
  • School health assessments
  • Sports physicals
  • Camp physicals
  • Health assessments for child care

Well Child clinics are only available at our Olathe location. Proof of Johnson County residency is required.

 

Paying for Well Child Care:

Please bring proof of income for every wage earner in the household. Valid proof of income includes:

- recent pay stub:

- W-2, or last tax return: or
- employer letter with hours worked and wage per hour.

  • Fees for services are based on family size and income.
  • Partial payment can be made.
  • No one is denied service because of inability to pay.
  • Accepted payment includes cash, check, or major credit card.
  • Fee-based client accounts may be subject to collections if not paid.

Prenatal services and Well Child clinics are only available at our Olathe location. These two programs require Johnson County residency.
