The Health Department is the lead agency for the Johnson County SAFE KIDS Coalition.  This Coalition is affiliated with the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, the first and only national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury -- the number one killer of children ages 14 and under.  There are more than 300 SAFE KIDS coalitions and chapters in the United States and around the world.  The Johnson County SAFE KIDS coalition is comprised of agencies, organizations, and businesses within Johnson County who work to prevent unintentional injury in children.  The objectives of the Johnson County SAFE KIDS coalition include:
