
All classes will be held at: Johnson County Health Department, 11875 S. Sunset, Suite 300, Olathe, KS 66061, unless otherwise stated.
Fees for classes range from $15 to $20 per class. Please see class schedules. Prepayment is required to hold a spot when registering for all A/CCF JCHD workshops. Registration for classes will close one week prior to scheduled date of class. Prepaid registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. You may call to check availability if class is less than one week away. Prepayment is still required.
Workshop fees are non-refundable. Twenty-fours hours notification for not attending a workshop is required. Those giving 24 hours or more notice for not attending can be given credit to attend another workshop provided by the department. Those not meeting the 24-hour notice will forfeit any registration money paid.
Registrants who have already paid for a workshop that is cancelled by the department will be given credit to attend another workshop provided by the department. Workshops may be cancelled by the department with 24-hour notice due to lack of registrants.

Someone will contact you in one to two business days to confirm your registration and let you know the fees due for the class or classes you wish to attend. "Public Information Meeting to Apply for Daycare Home", Cost: $5 for licensed and $10 for registered. You do NOT need to pre-register for this meeting. You may not bring children with you to the meeting. The licensed portion of the meeting will conclude at 11:30 a.m. and the registered portion of the meeting is complete at 12:00 p.m. You will received a certificate for approved training. At this class, the group meets as a whole to compare and discuss the differences between licensure and registration, review of general regulations and a fire marshal discusses the general requirements for fire safety. The group then divides into two group in separate rooms to review the applications and requirements specifically to become a licensed or registered provider of child care. |

"Asthma Management and the Environmental Control" Cost: $15 . This course is designed for anyone working with children who have asthma or allergies and those individuals whose job requires them to visit any child's home. The course creates an awareness of asthma as a disease and the positive health effects of initiating environmental control measures indoors where most children spend 90 percent of their time. The home is an integral part of the care of children with asthma (initially it includes doctor's offices and the hospital). The home, school, and daycare environments are all part of Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics' (CMH) approach to the treatment of asthma and allergies in children. The providers will be equipped with the knowledge to recognize early warning signs of an asthma episode and how to respond. They will also learn efforts to minimize environmental allergens and irritants. Approved by KDHE for two clock hours of training for home providers, CCC/SAP staff, CCC Infant Staff, CCC Preschool Staff, Center or home-based 24-hour care, child care regulatory staff and Program Director/Administrator. |
